National Account Manager - Retail Food Industry

Description

Growing Manufacture/ Distributor in the food industry is seeking a qualified National Account Manager to oversee and grow large retail clients.  Position based in Los Angeles Marketplace.


 


 


 



Responsibilities:


 





  • Manages assigned sales territory to achieve assigned quotas.



  • Maintain existing accounts and develop new accounts.



  • Regularly meets with major headquarter accounts, or multi-unit accounts and brokers.



  • Develop business plans, negotiate commitments and secure purchase orders.



  • Build relationships with account personnel including top management.



  • Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.



  • Prepares and submits sales reports that provide detailed and relevant information that headquarters management needs to make important decisions regarding competitive threats, pricing, sales and marketing programs and availability.



  • Presents the proposal and negotiates price, terms, and conditions with customer.



  • Follows up with buying influences



  • Attends meetings with buyers, brokers, retail headquarters



  • Create, sustaining and renewing client contracts and review contract terms.



  • Identifies issues with accounts and works with the appropriate internal and external parties to effectively communicate and resolve matters. 



  • Prepares and submits monthly rolling sales forecast reports.



  • Solicits customer information/feedback and uses it to improve business and service level.



  • Services the customer and develops collaborative relationships at all levels



  • Plans customer’s business on an annual/quarterly/monthly basis



  • Communicate to sales team and other functions within the company




 


 


 


Job Requirements


 


  


 





  • A minimum BA/BS degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration or related field



  • 5-7 years of experience in related field



  • National Account Manager experience is a must.



  • Must be able to travel nationally  (more than 50%)



  • Selling to Retail store chain is a must  



  • Must demonstrate sales planning, forecasting, and sales execution experience



  • Well developed organizational communication skills and management skills.



  • Ability to work in corporate office and overnight travel as needed.



  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required



  • Proficient in spreadsheet and presentation software



  • Must show proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with customers and functional groups.



  • Must show aptitude to effectively interpret and use multiple information sources to develop customer-specific tactical plans and options.



  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.



  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
