Overview:

 

The Director of Sales will monitor the effectiveness of Sales Managers and Sales Representatives and their respective businesses; developing strategies to enhance the effectiveness of each sector.  Oversee 8-10 direct reports. Responsible for 300mm plus in revenue. Based in the Los Angeles market. Travel on a national level is required. MUST have consumer packaged goods experience!

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                    

 

Include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Communicate, enforce the strategy, and provide the focus to sales department.
  • Monitor customer contact by sector contributors, direct involvement with key accounts.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the order process, ensure the process is effective and adjust as needed.
  • Monitor the management of each sector; Pricing and proposals, directly involved with price development; Account transactions, receivables; Marketing and Promotional calendar development; Promotional impact; Account baseline
  • Monitor Contractual compliance of each sector; Understand contractual implications; Execute review process; Execute filling and maintenance process; Review engagement letters, develop process to maintain consistency.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of sector for forecast development; Timeliness, confirm forecasts are complete and on time; Trends and future events; Actual versus forecast, develop methods to minimize variance.
  • Monitor inventory turnover.
  • Monitor Business Reviews; Business reviews preparation and value; Proficiency with Sales Performance Management reports.
  • Internal Communication; Assist and encourage the development of training methodologies to enhance team; Facilitate cross communication between sectors; Facilitate intra-departmental communication
  • Ensure Sales Managers will achieve goals.

 

      

Education:

Bachelor’s degree with marketing background (MBA preferred).
